Rotary University Co-Presidents Colleen Hinckley and Kim McClaskey have announced the theme and the date as Saturday, Aug. 16th for the 2008 Rotary Club Celebrity Waiter Dinner.
The dinner will be held again this year at the Athens Country Club with social time beginning at 6 p.m.
“The committee is working hard to make the event even more exciting than ever before. We encourage attendees to wear their favorite “College colors”.
This year’s list of Celebrity Waiters includes some favorites from past dinners as well as some new faces. The list includes Sue Stalcup, Dr. Aaron Stephens, Mike Groom, Bruce Martin, Jerry Scott, Scott McKee, Steve Brown, Robert Blaase, Jeff VanHorn, Sandy Molander, Chris Picken, Alex Harrell, Richard Sanders, Dr. John Loar, Charlie Arnt, Sara McAtee, Kathi Nailling, Adrienne Gautreaux, Robert Slovacek, Loren Abbott, Charlie Kairalla and George Mueller.
Again this year there will be a live auction with Kenny Odom conducting the auction. According to Hickley, the list of auction items is outstanding and there will also be a silent auction with items just as spectacular.
For tickets or more information please call Glenda Holbrook at 903-498-7277. Remember to make plans to attend and help the Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake fund their goals of presenting scholarships to some deserving graduating seniors from Eustace, Mabank and Kemp high schools. There were over 30 scholarships presented this year. Local students and many other lake area organizations will also be benefactors from the proceeds of the Rotary club’s annual fundraiser.
The event marks the organization’s 12th Celebrity Waiter Fundraiser. Each year the club strives to come up with new, unusual and fun themes to keep its fundraising event original and entertaining as well as a successful benefit affair.
