Rollover accident in GBC
The 19-year-old driver of this vehicle, Steven Jacob Neighbors of Kemp, police say, blacked out, leading to this crash. Four teenagers were taken to East Texas Medical Center Gun Barrel City for treatment of minor injuries after this 2000 Honda Civic struck an embankment at the entrance of 3015 W. Main. The vehicle continued, striking a culvert to the east of Big Chief Drive, then continued across Big Chief Drive, striking lines on the west side of Big Chief Drive. The car rolled an undetermined amount of times, finally coming to rest in the ditch on the south side of West Main and the north side of Big Chief Landing, coming to rest facing northeast. The other three teen agers injured in the wreck were 17-year-old James David Warner II of Eustace, 16-year-old Alex Paige Hodges from Kemp, and Valentina Ramirez of Scurry. Hodges was the most seriously injured suffering non-incapacitating injury, according to police reports. The other teenagers were all checked out for minor possible injuries.
