Dear Editor:
Here’s exciting news for all members of the Loon Bay POA. It’s the Grand Opening of your Loon Bay Parks! The Parks will open Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the North Park. Light refreshments will be provided.
A long awaited refurbishment of the Loon Bay POA parks is nearing completion. Both parks have new piers, retaining walls, sidewalks and fences.
South Park now has an enclosed swimming area and will soon have a new boat ramp.
Whether you have already enjoyed the new facilities, have noticed contractors coming and going, or were not even aware anything was going on, we encourage you to attend the Grand Re-opening. This will be a great time for everyone to review the intended uses and features of the parks, and how important the parks are to all of us.
This will also be a good time to become familiar with park rules, member’s responsibilities, safety and security issues, and the ways all members can share in the long term maintenance and usefulness of the park.
We would appreciate your ideas and suggestions, so please come and join in the fun.
Harry McCune
Park Committee
Chairman

Look Who's Guarding the Henhouse
In 1998 Barney Frank and Chris Dodd were instrumental in getting legislation through President Clinton requiring banks and other mortgage companies to "look the other way" and give mortgages to homebuyers who could not afford the payments on the homes they were looking to purchase.
