HCSO arrests three on drug charges
SEVEN POINTS — Law-enforcement officials from the Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit, the Gun Barrel City Police Department, the Henderson County Tactical unit and the Henderson County Sheriff’s office, combined efforts to make a huge drug bust last Thursday.
It happened at 3021 County Road 2428 Sands Ranch Road near Seven Points.
Three persons have been arrested with Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Henry Ashford setting bond for each of those arrested:
• Jerry Jeff Culver, 27; who is being held on four bonds totalling $213,500. They include unlawful possession of firearms by a felon; possession and transfer of anhydrous ammonia; manufacture of delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group one (over 400 grams); evading arrest and detention; and possession and transportation of a chemical with intent to manufacture.
• Keith Zachary Henderson , 31; has bonds totally 160,000 on three charges, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, greater than 400 grams; and prohibitive weapon, and possession and transport of anhydrous ammonia.
• Alicia Joette Franks, 41, was charged with manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance. Over 400 grams which is a first degree felony.
Other charges include:
• evading arrest/detention, which is a class B misdemeanor;
• possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container, which is a second-degree felony;
• possession of a prohibited weapon with is a third degree felony;
• possession of a firearm by a felon, which is a third-degree felony.
Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit investigators Kenny Collard, Ronny Halbert, Darrell Waller and David Faught presented a search warrant issued by Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace, Milton Adams.
On arrival, investigators saw a white male running from the location into a wooded area. He was apprehended after a short foot chase and identified as Jerry Jeff Culver.
Also at the location was Keith Joette Franks.
During residence search, investigators found two illegal sawed-off shotguns and a handgun.
Investigators also located a large quantity of suspected meth currently in the manufacturing state.
In addition, investigators also located a five gallon propane style tank containing anhydrous ammonia in a wooded area behind the residence.
The HCO tactical team was activated to assist with issuing of the search warrant because of information received about weapons inside the residence.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Captain Kay Langford, Lt. Botie Hillhouse, Gun Barrel City Police Chief Damon Boswell, Gun Barrel City Assistant Chief Larry Warrick, and members of the tactical unit were all involved in the bust.
All three subjects were transported to Henderson County Jail.
