All three schools named on all district teams
MABANK —The Panthers landed four players on the District 15-4A All-District football team.
The four seniors who made the offensive team were Cory Janicke, wide receiver, Dillon Bramblitt, first team offensive lineman, Dustin Schultz, first team punter, and Drew Cosper, second team offensive lineman.
Nolan Duncan was the only first-team linebacker selected despite the team’s ability to stay close to every opponent until the final game when suspensions helped West Mesquite overwhelm the Panthers, 51-8.
Dustin Schults was a second team linebacker, and Zach Chavez and Si Frideley were second team defensive backs.
Robert Cron was a second team defensive end.
Honorable mention went to quarterback Jordan Featherston, wide receiver Trey Fernandez, wide receiver Si Fridely, running back Cameron Cantrell, offensive lineman Peyton Owen and offensive lineman Caleb Asherton and running back Jesse Fosse.
Honorable mention defensive selections included, Denny Smith, Matt Lowe, Michael Henderson, Jacob Walker and Darius Robertson.
EUSTACE, KEMP REPRESENTED ON 14-3A TEAM
Six Eustace players, including the entire Dog backfield, made the 14-3 A offensive first team, and three Kemp players made the defensive first team, picked by coaches in the district.
Three year starting quarterback Chris Compton was named first-team all-district, as were running backs JoJo Bradburn, Trevan Johnson and fullback Justin Calhoun. All part of the talented Dog backfield, which had so much trouble getting all four on the field at the same time because of injuries.
Offensive tackle Nick Dunlap was a first teamer as was center Owen Babcock.
Last year’s star fullback Shawn Baldwin, who was slowed by a knee injury this year, was a second team, selection at tight end.
Tackle Dillon Yates and wide receiver Justin Hall were second-team selections.
