EUSTACE — Despite a terrific start, the Dogs were unable to send Malakoff home crying last Friday, ultimately losing, 56-38.
Eustace jumped to a 17-6 lead in the first period, but the Tigers outscored the Dogs 19-10 in the second quarter, narrowing the Dogs’ lead to 27-25 by halftime.
The Tigers totally dominated the second half, limiting the Dogs to just 11 second-half points, which scoring 31 themselves.
Trevan Johnson and Blake Hammonds led the Dogs with 11 points each, but it wasn’t enough to offset an 18-point effort by the Tigers’ Cornelius Richardson, who had 18 points and Vanoid Dawson, who had 16.

Brock outlasts Panthers, 62-52
MABANK — The Panthers were never far behind, but Brock got a 27-24 halftime lead and nursed it to a 62-52 victory over Mabank on Nov. 24.
Tyler Fisher led the Panthers with 19 points, while Tray Phillips got 12 and Jacob Woodard 11.
Brock, on the other hand, got balanced scoring from Robby Young (18 points) and Austin Hernandez and Gaage Baker, who had 17 apiece.
Young sank four treys to keep the Panthers at a distance.
Marshal had a pair of treys for the Panthers.
One bright spot was Mabank’s free throw shooting. The Panthers made 14 of 19, good for 74 percent.
