Cedar Creek Lake Shootout begins
Mabank hosts eight team tournament Thursday through Saturday
MABANK — The eight-team Cedar Creek Lake Shootout begins Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Panther gym with a game between Rockwall and Bryan Adams.
The Panthers close out the first day of activities by battling arch-rival Kaufman at 8:30 p.m.
Between the first and last games, opening-round matches will be held between Hallsville and Mauriceville at 5:30 p.m.
Dallas Samuel plays T.K. Gorman at 7 p.m.
The losers of Thursday’s games meet in the consolation-round Friday.
The Rockwall-Bryan Adams loser takes on the Hallsville-Mauriceville loser.
In the bottom half of the bracket, the Samuell, TK Gorman loser takes on the Kaufman-Mabank loserina 5:30 p.m. Thursday contest.
The winners of those games meet in a 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. contests Friday.
The Rockwall-Bryan Adams winner is slated to meet the Hallsville-Mauriceville winner at 7 p.m.; and the Samuell-TK Gorman winner takes on the Kaufman-Mabank winner at 8:30 p.m.
The final three games are set for Saturday.
The consolation championship game begins at noon, followed by a 1:30 p.m. contest for third place between the losers of the second-round games.
The winners of the second-round games meet for the tournament championship at 3 p.m. Saturday.
